East High Performing Arts presents Hairspray: The Musical, February 8 & 9 at 7:30 P.M. and Sunday, February 10 at 2 P.M. in the Performing Arts Center at Wichita High School East, 2301 E Douglas. Tickets are available at the door: Adults $10 / Students $7.

Florida Bound! |
Tonight the school board approved East High's Theatre/Orchestra trip to Orlando over spring break. The orchestra will be participating in workshops and playing at Disney Village. The theatre crew will go behind the scenes and learn more about creating productions. And, of course, both groups will have fun: 5 days at Disney (including Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Disney Studios), 2 days at Universal Studios (Islands of Adventure, Harry Potter World), 1 day at a water park (Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach) and more!
Cost of the trip will be about $900 (which includes all transportation, admissions, workshops, lodging, and breakfasts at hotels).
Space is LIMITED!
SENIORS: You can sign up right now! Bring a down payment of $300 to Crawford (orchestra) or Gronewold (theatre). Checks to East High, credit cards- see Paula the bookkeeper.
Juniors: You can sign up on Monday, Sept 17.
Sophomores: You can sign up on Wednesday, Sept 19.
Freshmen: You can sign up on Monday, Sept. 24.

East High Nights of Broadway Cast NEW |
The cast list for East High's Nights of Broadway 8 can be found HERE. Please note that the cast list for the musical will be different. Those on the NOB list with a star by their name should plan on attending a dance audition Wednesday, Sep 5, after school in the theatre. A full cast rehearsal will be held on Thursday, Sep 6, in the choir room.

A few schedule changes |
There have been a few changes made to the season calendar. Call-backs for the district musical are now on Friday, August 31. Stars has been moved back to May 17 & 18 due to graduation being incredibly early (May 10).

A New Year Starts! |
Summer is nearly over and an exciting new year is about to begin! Please note that the upcoming year's dates have been added to the Season Calendar.
The new theater is nearly complete! Tours will be given at the start of school. A community night is in the works. Theatre alumni are welcome to stop by after school for a look (or call Mr. G to make arrangements.)
Auditions for the East Musical will probably be the second week of school. Auditions for the District Musical will be August 28 (for East students) with call-backs on August 30. More info to come.

The soundtrack for the revival of "Anything Goes!" featuring East Theatre alums Kevin Munhall and Shina Morris is now available on iTunes! Check it out!
The New York Trip is almost full! All of the spots for girls are taken, so if you are female and want to go, get your name on the waiting list and hope someone cancels. If you are a boy, there are still 3 spots open. Contact Mr. G as soon as possible. The list of travelers can be found HERE.
